You’ve heard that Britain’s got talent?
Well, a lot of it is in Welwyn!
SING? ACT? DANCE?

If so, then you can enter for
Welwyn’s New Talent Competition.
The contest is for 11-18 year olds.
It takes place on Tuesday 23rd June at 8pm
at the Welwyn Sports & Social Club.
There will be small prizes for the best acts.

Welwyn’s Got Talent?
This is a talent contest for
young people, and it is part of the Welwyn Festival week. We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians and actors who can give a five minute performance to a friendly audience There will be small prizes but the
emphasis is on having an enjoyable evening seeing and listening to the talent Welwyn’s young people have to offer. There is an entry fee of £6 for entrants. Tickets to watch the contest will cost £6 (£3 for
concessions).
When is It?
The contest takes place in the main hall of the Welwyn Sports and Social Club in
Ottway Walk on Tuesday, June 23rd from 8 - 10.30pm. Entrants will be able to rehearse beforehand.
What Happens in the Contest?
The contest will be split into two groups: 11-14 and 15-18. Each entrant
will be asked to give a short performance of about 5 minutes. There will be a sound system for backing CDs and a live accompanist for singers and musicians if they want piano/keyboard accompaniment. Judges will
comment on each performance in a constructive manner. Small prizes will be awarded to the best act in each age group and all entrants will get a certificate of participation. The winners of both age groups will be
offered the opportunity to perform in the Festival’s Prom Concert on Friday June 26th.
Who can Apply?
The contest is open to young people who are between the ages of 11 and 18 and live in
Welwyn or the local area. The contest is open to individual performers or small group performances. To apply complete the application form and return it but hurry! You need to book your place by Friday 12th June so that we can make sure you have everything you need to WOW the audience.
