FRIDAY 19th June
6pm-8pm . Contemporary art exhibition by Anneli Boon. 16 Mimram Place, off the High Street.
7.30pm Launch Event. Willow Watercolours. Private viewing. (Tickets via 840977) The Scout HQ.
SATURDAY 20th
From 8.30am. Brunch and stalls in the car park at The Wellington.
8.45am. St Mary’s bell ringers, ring in Welwyn Week
9.00am -12.30pm. THE STREET MARKET. Over 60 stalls, plus the hurdy gurdy man, tours of the Church tower and refreshments in the New Church House. Codicote Road, by St. Mary’s Church.
10am - 4pm. Willow Watercolours. Art show and sale. The Scout HQ.
10am - 4pm. The Welwyn Art Group’s exhibition. The Parish Rooms.
11am - 8.00pm . Photos and history of Welwyn exhibition. The Civic Centre.
1.30pm. Cricket match. WGC 3rds v Tewin 1sts. A local derby match! The playing fields.
2pm-7pm . Contemporary art by Anneli Boon. 16 Mimram Place.
7pm doors open for 8.30pm. Festival club night, live entertainment. Welwyn Sports and Social Club.
7 30pm . Talk - Would you believe they put a man on the moon?! The Main Hall, Civic Centre

10am – 4pm . Willow Watercolours. Art show and sale. The Scout HQ.
10am - 4pm. Photos and history of Welwyn exhibition. Civic Centre.
10.30am . Guided walk, with Cliff Hassall. Meet at the White Hill car park.
11am- 4pm. Open Day at the Roman Baths.
2pm-6pm. Open Gardens (venues listed separately).
2pm-7pm Contemporary art by Anneli Boon. 16 Mimram Place.
7pm. Live Jazz at the Wellington
MONDAY 22nd

7.45pm for 8pm. Dr. Aubrey’s talk on religious art (collection in aid of Welwyn Festival Charities). The Parish Rooms.
8pm. Talk – Ex Time Team member Carenza Lewis “Currently Occupied Rural Settlements”. Entry £5 per head. The Civic Centre, Main Hall.
8pm. Open Evening and Welwyn Local History Society display. Welwyn Sports and Social Club.

8pm. The Natural History Society.” The new Heartwood forest at Wheathampstead” talk by the Woodland Trust. The Civic Centre, Small Hall.

8pm. Talk by Merle Rook “Living with Tony 2!” New Church House, St Mary’s Church

FRIDAY 26th
2.15pm-2.45pm . Under 5’s story time. “The Secret Life of Bees” The Civic Centre library.

SATURDAY 27th
12.50pm for 1pm. THE FANCY DRESS PARADE (Theme “Cartoon Characters”) starts from the Civic
Centre, walking along the High Street, at approx 1.00pm to the:
1.15pm-5pm. FAMILY FUN DAY at Singlers Marsh, Codicote Road.
(including coconut shy, army display, target football competition, racing ferrets, bouncy slide, marching band, tea tent, majorettes, beer tent, stalls, ponies, clown, punch & judy, carousel, circus skills, plate smash, archery, kids races and tug o’ war.)

SUNDAY 28th
10am–5pm. Welwyn Tennis Club Open Day. All ages welcome. Coaching followed by a tournament
in the afternoon. Top of the playing fields.
10.30am . Discovering Sherrardspark Wood. A guided tour by the wardens. £3 per head. Meet at the
Rectory Road car park past the Red Lion pub. Reservations call 01707 329034
12pm onwards . Darts Competition. £12 per team. Welwyn Sports and Social Club.
2.30pm. Sara Hartley. Professional soprano. Tickets £8 from Hill’s or phone 0207 696 1637. St Mary’s

• Open Gardens. All are most welcome to visit these gardens at their leisure between 6pm – 9pm weekday evenings, 2pm - 6pm Sunday. (£1.50 per day – covers all venues, OAPs/children free)
